SCREENING: Thursday 5 May | 7PM at ACMI, Federation Square, Melbourne

HUMAN RIGHTS, ARTS & FILM FESTIVAL Screening: Thursday 5 May | 7PM

ACMI, Federation Square, Melbourne Director: Yaara Bou Melham Duration: 98 mins

Australian journalist and filmmaker Yaara Bou Melhem makes her documentary feature debut with a work as creative and visionary as the artist she has chosen to depict.

US artist Trevor Paglen is renowned for his audacious projects, and his latest is no exception. Unseen Skies follows Paglen as he attempts to launch an artwork into space, to demonstrate that our skies are more than the exclusive playground of the military-industrial complex. Or are they? When we look up, who is looking back?

Yaara Bou Melhem is the recipient of two international UN Media Peace Awards, two NY Film & TV Awards, a HK Human Rights Press Award and five Walkley Awards.
