News: Correction to Greg Craven's column in The Australian

Peter Munro, ABC Communications Lead

The ABC wishes to correct a claim by Greg Craven in his column (“The case against George Pell was misguided, unreasonable and vile”) in The Australian on 8 April.

The ABC did not “rush forward” the broadcast of episode 3 of Revelation after the High Court announced the date of its judgment in Cardinal Pell’s case.

In fact, the ABC announced its initial broadcast date of 31 March on 19 February, more than six weeks before the High Court’s announcement on 2 April.

On 25 March, again, well before the High Court’s announcement, the ABC announced it had rescheduled the broadcast of episodes 2 and 3 of Revelation due to our live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s COVID-19 update.

Episode 3 was eventually broadcast on 2 April. Rather than being “rushed forward”, it went to air later than originally planned. For more information Peter Munro ABC Communications Lead
